Netanyahu, Finish the War!

It may be that the latest terror attack in Itamar will have a deleterious affect upon the peace process. But more likely it won’t. Our golden tongued prime minister spoke eloquently as he condemned those nations who refused to give the same response to cold blooded murder as they did to Jews building homes in Israel. He expressed disappointment that the PLO didn’t condemn the murders as well. I wonder why he would think that Abu Mazen, the master mind of the Munich massacre of Jewish athletes, would have any regrets about the murder of Jewish children, whose murder he most likely approved.

I am continuously amazed at how, after decades of countless horrific murders of Jewish civilians by our Arab peace partners, our dauntless leadership continues to ascribe these attacks to individual “terrorists” rather than recognize that our “peace” partners are actually engaged in a war to destroy the Jewish State! Such a statement would be considered “racism”. Rather than being accused of racism we have chosen to limit our response to individual “terrorists” rather than take steps which can stop these murders. Our limited minds permit us to believe that if we apprehend and punish the individual “terrorist” that justice will be served and terror will be wiped out. Clearly time has shown that this belief is unjustified and simply not the case.

Most, if not all, “terrorists” commit their acts of murder with the understanding that they are likely to die for their efforts. . . and they are well prepared for that probability. In their minds they are soldiers giving their lives for their ideological beliefs. Whether we catch them and put them in jail, or kill them on the spot will have absolutely no affect upon the willingness of others to commit similar acts. On the contrary.. Martyrdom actually encourages others to emulate such behavior.

The purpose of terror is to weaken the resolve of civilians to continue to live here. And by “here” I mean all of the Land of Israel, not just Judea and Samaria as many would like to believe. This is a war in the full sense of that word and it is only our Jewish leadership which fails to recognize this fact and thus prevents us from winning.

Ideally, we should at long last recognize that Israel was not meant to be a home for all freedom loving people, rather the homeland of the Jewish people alone. If others want to live here as non-citizens with human rights, not civil rights, that is one thing. But if others are accepted to live as equal citizens here while denying our rights and declaring that our homeland is really theirs, this is a recipe for self destruction and the very path we currently tread.

Given our pathological need to prove that we are not racists, we have chosen to accept our enemies as equal citizens and even permit them to sit in our Knesset!! Recognizing the unlikelihood of changing this self denigrating position, at the very least we must take steps that can discourage, if not eliminate these acts of murder. If the individual “terrorist” is prepared to die for his efforts, then we must find a price that he will be unprepared to pay. If a suicide murderer knows that his act will lead not only to his death, but the destruction of his village and the deportation of his loved ones, that might have a mitigating affect upon his decision and that of others like him. And even if not, such a policy can eventually remove our enemies, albeit at a far slower pace than is desirable. There are those who would deplore this as collective punishment. But isn’t that what war is? Has there ever been a war which did not see the killing of innocent civilians? What kind of morality justifies our enemies murdering our civilians while declaring it to be wrong to deter murder via “collective punishment”?

I listen to our leaders and am appalled by their continued refusal to see that we are still enduring the war for independence and not even trying to win! Netanyahu is still trying to compromise with our homeland while our enemies are still murdering us. Were he a genuine Jewish leader he would stop all negotiations, revoke citizenship of all non Jews, take back all lands under PLO control, remove all hostile enemies from Jewish soil, and permit Jews to build homes all over our homeland. This is not a radical idea. It is common sense and practiced by every other country in the world. Only in Israel do we respect the right of our enemies to try to destroy us.

When will our leaders finally understand that we are a nation that stands alone not to be reckoned among the nations of the world? When will they realize that no sacrifice we make will satisfy our “peace partners” other than total self destruction? And when will we stop the course of step by step self destruction which is still our national policy?

Yes, Mr. Netanyahu, your eloquent words evoke sympathy. But it is high time that we stop striving for sympathy and begin to act as proud Jews who would rather be called racists than be eulogized. You can stop terror if you really want to. Last time you were prime minister you gave Arafat the hills overlooking the Jewish community of Hebron from which a PLO sniper murdered another Jewish infant. So stop pretending to be surprised when they continue to murder our children. Unless you decide to win the war that is being waged against us they will continue to murder our children.

Project Shofar seeks to bring this message to those who choose not to see. It is incredible that the majority, both in the Exile and even in Israel, fail to see the obvious. They prefer to believe in the nonsense that we can make peace with those who seek our destruction rather than to accept the reality that with us is the greatest power in the world Who wants us to make real peace simply by accepting and demonstrating the fact that He and only He is in charge.
