“A Modest Proposal”
Posted Under: Israeli Politics, Peace Process, Redemption Process
In today’s Jerusalem Post, Ami Ayalon, former director of Israeli national security services, proposed a new law which he is certain will bring us peace. The fact is that his proposal is not new. What is most amazing about his suggestion is that he actually seems to believe it.
Like most left wing politicians, this fellow clearly has no concept of the Divine element of the reborn Jewish State. To him the creation of the Jewish State was simply incredible luck which cannot last forever.
His solution is to surrender now before our enemies destroy us. He feels that if Israel withdraws from all of Judea and Samaria, even without a peace agreement, that the Arabs will be compelled to recognize our sincere desire for peace and thus welcome us as good neighbors in the lands we lived in prior to the Arab attack of 1967 which sought to destroy us when we did not have settlements in Judea and Samaria.
One is hard pressed to understand how any intelligent human being can assume that peace will result from this absurd suggestion. Indeed, Prime Minister Sharon actually executed a similar idea when he arbitrarily removed the entire Jewish population from the Gaza Strip, including those interred in Jewish cemeteries there. We all clearly saw how the Arabs appreciated our magnanimity and came rushing with flowers to make peace with us. Should we be stupid enough to implement Ayalon’s plan and abandon Judea and Samaria to the PLO all we would accomplish is to increase terror and encourage our enemies to continue their efforts to destroy us. This is nothing less than treason. How dare any government official suggest that Jewish funds be used to bribe Jews to abandon our homeland? No country in the world would dream of such insanity.
Ayalon insists that his “new” concept is the only way to find real peace. He is using the carrot and stick approach. Those living in Judea and Samaria who choose to voluntarily leave will receive generous compensation. Those who choose to stay will eventually be deported without compensation. Ironically this concept was proposed by Rabbi Meir Kahane many years ago and deemed racist… because it was directed at Arabs living in Judea and Samaria. . not Jews. I haven’t heard any calls of racism for Ayalon’s proposal.
The problem with our so called leadership is that it has no idea how to lead. We are a sovereign nation being called upon by our enemies to self destruct. Rather than destroy our enemies our leaders have chosen to negotiate our self destruction. If peace is more important than our existence then this is a wise move. Otherwise it is total insanity.
Fortunately the rebirth of the Jewish State in the Land of Israel is a G-dly process. As such all attempts, by friend, foe, or even our own leadership, to destroy this country are destined to fail. But all those engaged in such efforts will get their just rewards. The reborn Jewish State has grown and thrived despite impossible obstacles… including our own leadership. The nations are gathering together to destroy this tiny country… as predicted in the Bible. And the end will find all those who sought our destruction will themselves be destroyed and the tiny Jewish State will become the leader of all nations under genuine Jewish leadership.
