An Open Letter to President Barak Hussein Obama

First of all I want to congratulate you on your new post as leader of the free world. Your desire to attack the ills of the world and bring positive change is refreshing and inspiring. As a citizen of the United States and of the State of Israel who has been living in Israel for nearly thirty years and has a deep love for both countries, I wish to address your desire to help bring peace to the Middle East.

Mr. President, as one who believes in the Bible, you should certainly understand that the only hope for our future lies in recognition of the design of the Creator of the Universe. The so called “road map” and the vision of two states for two people is on a direct collision course with Biblical prophesy. The United States of America became the great country it is only because her founding fathers included the Creator as a full partner in the establishment and running of this country. I was pleased to note at the end of your inaugural address the traditional “G-d Bless America”. This shows that you too recognize the Divine connection which makes America great.

Mr. President I do believe that you sincerely intend to do all you can to make our world a better place. To be willing to make changes indicates great courage as it means changing the mistakes of the past, no matter how difficult that may be. I believe that the most important effort which faces you today is how you lead this country in relation to the Jewish State. In this most vital challenge I must admit to you that I am very disappointed to see that you have decided not to make changes in the mistakes of former administrations.

Back in 1948, the declaration of independence of the State of Israel was a clear and bold indication that Biblical prophesy is beginning to unfold in our day. Although the leaders of Israel then, as now, were not observant Jews and failed to see the Divine element of this moment, history has clearly shown that this country is far more than a political entity, rather a Biblical one. Our original leaders were fully prepared to accept a tiny indefensible piece of our Divine inheritance in order to gain peace with our neighbors. Had the Arab nations accepted that willingness it could very well be that the Jewish State would have disappeared in short time. Instead they chose to try to destroy the tiny fledgling state. To the amazement of the entire world and even her own leaders, Israel succeeded in fending off her attackers and strengthening her position with more defendable borders.

Again, in June of 1967, the Arab nations were convinced that they were in a position to destroy the Jewish State. Again, the entire world, including Israel, braced for another holocaust as our enemies attacked us on all of our borders. No one was more amazed than was the IDF to see that we defeated all of our enemies and expanded our borders in a mere six days! We regained more of our Biblical borders against our own intentions and as a clear result of our enemies efforts to destroy us. Yet today we are blamed for occupying land that was stolen from an indigent, peace loving, people.

Mr. President, there is no such thing as a Palestinian people. This concept was manufactured only in 1964 in order to create a public relations image which painted the Jewish victims of Arab aggression as the aggressors and to make the real aggressors appear to be the victims.

This was the most successful propaganda effort in the history of Mankind. Those who today call themselves “Palestinians” originated in places like Egypt and Saudi Arabia. The concept of Palestine today is designed to reject the legitimacy of Israel. Thus any Arab who calls himself a Palestinian is really expressing his rejection of the Jewish State and, as such is an enemy of Israel.

Mr. President, certainly you have heard the claim that were the Jewish State to return to the boundaries they had prior to 1967 that we could have peace with our neighbors. The question which no one seems willing to address is “Why did we not have peace prior to 1967 when the Arabs were in possession of all of the lands they claim they need for peace today?” Why did they not create a Palestinian State then? I would also ask you to consider, even in the mistaken concept of building a new state for our enemies, that peace is clearly not the likely result of this path. Israel, on her own, has tried to promulgate this concept already. She has given parts of our homeland to the control of the PLO.

In every instance the result has been terror. Nothing can be clearer in displaying this reality that what happened in Gaza. Israel unilaterally gave over that part of our country to our enemies in the foolish hope that peace would result. It was a tragic mistake which only made peace much more difficult to achieve.

I would also ask you to observe the fact that in every instance where Israel gave control to the PLO, they also removed the Jewish population from those areas. I daresay that even in the infamous concept of a two state solution, you will see that the Arab state will not have even one Jew in its midst, while what is left of the Jewish State will still have Arab enemies living in its midst. Clearly this is just a formula for weakening Israel for the kill. It is not a peace process at all.

Mr. President, as a newly elected President who ran on a platform of change, you are in an ideal position to implement the most positive change in modern history. You can redirect American policy to realign itself with Biblical values. Only this can restore America to greatness.

The Bible never suggested that the Children of Israel will share its only homeland with another people. It predicted that the Jewish People will eventually return to their ancient homeland from all over the world. Clearly this is actually happening in our time! This is no accident. In a country whose leaders have made every mistake conceivable, it is nothing short of miraculous that it still exists, never mind flourishes. We do not have great leaders… not even good leaders. And our army wins wars only because the G-d of Creation fights for them.

As I stated before, I love both countries. I truly want to see the United States remain a great nation. Unless the leadership of the United States returns that country to the partnership it once shared with G-d, it will perish along with all other nations who stand in the way of Divine Redemption. You, Sir, are in a unique position to make this happen. If you seek genuine greatness it is clearly at hand. May G-d bless you in your efforts to save the USA.

With Blessings from Hebron,

Gary M. Cooperberg

P.S. Should you wish to discuss this matter with me personally I would be happy to make a trip to Washington to do so.
